Operations Manager

Chicago, Illinois, United States | Full-time

About the Position:
Hyde Park Ventures Partners (HPVP) is excited to add an organized, resourceful, and action-oriented Operations Manager to our team.  You’ll provide support and take ownership in several critical areas of our work: office management, event planning and communications.  The backbone of this role is a balance between organization and taking action - you worry about the details, but you don’t let them get in the way of getting things done.

HPVP’s HQ is in Chicago’s vibrant River North neighborhood, and you’ll manage the ins-and-outs of our office.  While there is a slight learning curve as you get started, we want you to setup processes and systems that make this part of your job almost run on its own.  Understand the needs that exist and then build/find solutions.  Because of this part of your role, we expect you to mostly be working from our office.

HPVP hosts a large number of events - in-person and virtual, in Chicago and across our region.  You thrive in the details and strive to make every experience with HPVP - whether it’s a small, intimate dinner, a virtual educational webinar, or our annual summit - absolutely stellar.

We have some regular communications channels you will take ownership over - namely, social media and newsletter.  You will create a plan for both of these mediums so as to engage and grow our various communities and audiences.  No worries, you don’t need to be a stellar marketer for this.  You need to have a handle on what these items are and be open to learning more on how to leverage their potential impact.

While this role has a number of existing projects and initiatives you will pick up early in your time with HPVP, you will also have incredible latitude to execute on creative, new ideas that you come up with as you get further into the role.  If you are passionate about early stage investing and have a knack for keeping yourself, your space, and others organized, we would love to chat with you about this opportunity!
